Midnights, Taylor Swift

Just days after releasing her latest album, Midnights, Taylor Swift made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

In the interview, she talked about her songwriting process, her honorary degree from New York University, and her latest music video for “Bejeweled.”

The MV of the song contains “a psychotic amount” of Easter eggs, which she annotated in a PDF file. Additionally, Swift revealed a tour for Midnights.

“I think I should do it. When it’s time, we’ll do it. I miss it,” she said.

Midnights is the pop superstar’s tenth studio album after Evermore in 2020. Longtime collaborator Jack Antonoff produced the album. The collaborator also played on some of the songs.

The recordings include the song “Anti-Hero.” Additionally, the track “Snow on the Beach” features guest vocals from Lana Del Ray and lyrics from Zoe Kravitz and Swift’s lover Joe Alwyn. (Alwyn uses the pseudonym William Bowery.)

Following the release of Midnights on October 21, Swift unveiled the expanded “3 AM Edition” of the album, which includes seven more tracks. Swift and her team wrote these songs during the conception of Midnights. It includes works from the National’s Aaron and Bryce Dessner and Justin Vernon, Bon Iver’s songwriter.

Since 2020’s Evermore, Swift has been busy re-recording her first six albums. These were the albums sold to the music exec Scooter Braun in 2019. Currently, she’s dropped 2008’s Fearless and 2012’s Red re-recorded versions. Her re-recorded albums are called Taylor’s Version.

Swift Loves Easter Eggs

Prior to the album’s release, fans scrambled for Easter eggs in everything she released. They searched in every teaser and every release of information.

On September 21, the icon talked about her Easter eggs in a video series on TikTok called Midnights Mayhem With Me

She referred to the album as “the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life.”

Furthermore, she noted: “This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night—a journey through terrors and sweet dreams.

“The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching. Hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve, we’ll meet ourselves.”

Previously, Swift delivered an independent bonus edition of an album. Now, with the new album, she’s given to Target to sell the Lavender Edition.

And according to Target’s page, the new edition contains three bonus songs, with two as mixes. However, the tracks will not be available on other album editions.

Meanwhile, several songs on the album have made headlines. It includes “You’re on Your Own, Kid.”

Fans observed that the fifth song in every Swift album is the most devastating of all. And Midnights is no different.

“You’re on Your Own, Kid” is an essential track as it marks the first time the pop star talked about her body dysmorphia and eating disorder in her music. It is pretty vulnerable too.
