Monday night denoted another honor winning speech. Succession for sure got its success, while the White Lotus blossomed in full.
Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso picked up a string of big wins at Monday night’s Emmy Awards, picking up four trophies: Outstanding Comedy Series award is the second straight win for the show, while cast members Brett Goldstein and Jason Sudeikis earned acting awards.
HBO’s Succession could have been gearing up for a top Emmy pick. The show won Best Drama Series, Best Supporting Actor for Matthew McFadden’s performance, and a writing award for creator Jesse Armstrong’s screenplay.
Perhaps HBO was the real winner this year because its show White Lotus had a 5-star night – and took home the biggest awards: Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett snagged acting awards, and creator Mike White received awards for writing and directing.
The ceremony, held at the Microsoft Theater in LA, was hosted by Saturday Night Live’s Kenan Thompson. Gina Davis was also presented with the Governor’s Award at the ceremony.
Other celebrities who enjoyed the night included Michael Keaton, Lizzo, Amanda Seyfried, and Jerrod Carmichael.
