The widely popular Netflix show Stranger Things has been announced to receive a spin-off. The project is still in development, and not much information about it yet, but the creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, behind this creative masterpiece, have revealed some details that might interest fans of both shows.
When asked whether they would hold on until the last season of Stranger Things was done, both confirmed that “probably” so.
“There’s a version of it developing in parallel [to season 5], but they would never shoot parallel,” Ross said. “I think actually we’re going to start delving into that soon as we’re winding down and finishing these visual effects; Matt and I are going to start getting into it.”
Matt added, “The reason we haven’t done anything is just because you don’t want to be doing it for the wrong reasons, and it was just like, ‘Is this something I would want to make regardless of it being related to Stranger Things or not?’
“And definitely, even if we took the Stranger Things title off of it, I’m so, so excited about it. But it is not… It’s going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix.”

The last two episodes of season 4 are finally coming, and fans can’t contain their excitement.
At the time the season 5 was revealed to be the show’s last, the Duffer brothers did not formally disclose a spin-off but revealed a sneak peek that “there are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things; new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes.”
The Duffer brothers had been working on the spin-off for a while before revealing the plan, which may include Finn Wolfhard.
“Finn Wolfhard, he wasn’t spitballing; he just went, ‘I think this would be a cool spin-off,’” Ross recalled of the time the star rightly guessed what the new show would be.
“And we were like, ‘How in the world…’” The Duffer brothers didn’t explain and just said that they think Wolfhard will be a “really talented director” in the future.
Stranger Things is back for more summer adventures! Season 4 Volume II of the show drops on Netflix on July 1st.
