Multifaceted creative Yung Filly kicks off a new chapter in his already illustrious career today (May 20th) with the release of his brand new single ‘Long Time’ – an effortlessly infectious, 2-step-beat-driven bop that sees the Columbian-British star lyrically reflect upon complexities of modern day relationships.
Produced by Jay Weathers (Stormzy, Ed Sheeran, Rudimental), the super feel-good track captures Yung Filly at his best – delivering a slew of slick, fast-paced, well-versed rhymes set against a backdrop of staccato beats and swirling synths, to create an all out summer smash!
Of the inspiration behind the single, Filly says in a press release: “As a young man navigating through life where your success is the first thing people see when you meet them, ‘Long Time’ is a reflection of some of my experiences. As always the sound and the visuals are inspired by Columbian heritage mixed with influences from music I listened to growing up in South London.”
For the tracks accompanying music video, directed by LX (Knucks, Central Cee), we see the ‘100 Bags Freestyle’ singer in a playful mood, delivering the tracks lyrics to a potential new love interest in a variety of highly stylised setups.
